Mechanism of action:

Like other macrolides antibiotics , spiramycin binds
to the 50s sub-unit of ribosomes and inhibit protein
synthesis and cell growth.

It is primarily bactericidal against more sensitive
strains when used in high concentration accumulates
in high concentration in bacterial cell.
