Nitrotard (nitroglycerine) induced vasodilation increases venous capacitance and decreases arterial resistance, thereby reducing both the pre-load and after-load and lowering the cardiac oxygen demand.
Nitrotard (nitroglycerine) redistributes blood to ischemic areas in patients with atherosclerotic coronary heart disease.
