SEDIPROCT Suppositories Description :

	SEDIPROCT Suppositories Are Combination of Four Ingredients : - Antibiotic. - Natural Corticoid. - Capillary Protectant - Local Anesthetic

	SEDIPROCT SUPPOSITORIES are indicated mainly for Internal Hemorrhoids.

SEDIPROCT Cream Description :

	SEDIPROCT Cream has the two main ingredients suitable for alleviating inflammation and pain: Corticoid & Local Anesthetic.
	The Cream is Indicated for : - External hemorrhoids. - Complementing the use of suppositories in internal hemorrhoids. - Anal fissures, Pruritis, Proctitis. - Also suitable for some cases of Vaginitus involving itching & inflammation.

CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY of COMPONENETS :

Hydrocortisone :

- The standard corticosteroid secreted by adrenal cortex.
- It exerts an anti-inflammatory and anti-pruritic effect.
- Capillary dilatation, intercellular edema and tissue infiltration regress
- Capillary proliferation is suppressed.
- Anti-inflammatory activity reduces both inflammation & the accompanied exudation.
- Reduction of pruritis in the ano-rectal area is also achieved.

FRAMYCETINE (Soframycin, Neomycin B) :

- Belongs to the family of aminoglycoside antibiotics.
- Wide spectrum of activity against pathogenic Staphylococci, Streptococci E. Coli, Citrobacter, Shigella, Salmonellas, Klebsielles, Enterobacter, Serratia, etc
- Bacteriostatic and bactericidal action by deterioration of the reading of the genetic code - causing a disturbance of the protein synthesis (sub-unit 30S of ribosomes).
- Slightly absorbed by the digestive tract avoiding undesired systemic effects.

CINCHOCAINE (DIBUCAINE) :

- Local surface anesthetic or contact anesthetic of the quinoline-type with amide structure.
- Its main site of action is the neuronal membrane where it acts on neurons by limiting the process of excitation and conduction. It is used in creams, ointments and drops.
- It acts rapidly & for moderate duration as local analgesic for relief of pain and itching

ESCULOSIDE (AESCULINE) :

- Coumarin glucoside of natural origin.
- Has Vitamin P activity (Flavonoid).
- Increases the resistance of the capillary walls, decreases their permeability.
- Delay the catabolism of adrenalin by inhibition of the cathecol-O-3 methyl transferase.
- Enhances vascular time of the hemostase.
- Prevents venous insufficiency.
- Is an anticoagulant & improves vascular tone.

SEDIPROCT INDICATIONS :

	General :
	- Reduction of swelling, pain and inflammation of hemorrhoids and other rectal lesions. - Management of acute and chronic nonspecific proctitis, acute internal hemorrhoids, cryptitis, fissures and incomplete fistulas. - Internal and external pruritus ani. - May be used in pre- and post-operative hemorrhoidectomy and repair of fissures.
	Specific Indications Suppositories :
	- Internal Hemorrhoids especially those associated with inflammatory conditions - Anal Fissures, anal pruritis and proctitis - Wound treatment following proctologic surgery
	Specific Indications Cream :
	Short Term Symptomatic Relief of Perianal Discomfort, Inflammation and Itching Caused by : - External & Internal Hemorrhoids - Anal Fissure - Pruritus Ani - Vaginitis Associated With Itching

DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE :

	SEDIPROCT Suppositories :
	- The anal region should be cleaned thoroughly before using SEDIPROCT, which is best applied after defecation. - Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, generally insert one suppository daily high into the rectum. - If symptoms are severe, insert one suppository two to three times on the first day. - The consistency of suppositories that have become softened by warmth should be restored by immersion in cold water before the covering is removed.
	SEDIPROCT Cream : - The anal region should be cleaned thoroughly before using SEDIPROCT, which is best applied after defecation. - Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, generally apply twice daily. - On the first day, for faster symptomatic relief, apply up to four times. - Smear a little cream (about the size of a pea) around the anus and in the anal ring with a finger and use the finger-tip to overcome the resistance of the sphincter. - Protruding lumps should be thickly smeared and carefully pressed back with the finger. - Finger used should be with short smoothed fingernail.

Contraindications :

- Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
- Viral infections, primary bacterial or fungal infections in the treatment area.
- Secondary infections of the skin in the absence of appropriate anti-infective therapy.
- Known sensitivity to local anesthetics.
