Composition:
Each 100 grams of Gel contains 0.5 gram of Piroxicam, as an active ingredient.
Properties:
Dispercam Gel is a topical preparation with potent anti- inflammatory, antirheumatic and analgesic properties. Its active ingredient, Piroxicam, is a nonsteroidal, anti-inflammatory drug, which strongly inhibits prostaglandin synthesis. Dispercam Gel is suitable for the treatment of inflammatory and degenerative rheumatic diseases, as well as for use in painful conditions due to inflammation of non-rheumatic origin, and in post-traumatic pain
Dispercam Gel contains a skin-penetration enhancer which greatly increases the rate and extent of Piroxicam penetration through the stratum corneum to the underlying viable tissues, with less chances for enzymatic degradation, thereby achieving high local concentrations in these tissues. Thus, with Dispercam Gel, potent and rapid anti-inflammatory, anti-rheumatic and analgesic actions at the affected area are assured.
Dispercam Gel is particularly recommended for the athletics as well as the elderly and debilitated patients where the direct gastro-intestinal side effects are avoided and systemic adverse reactions are minimized.
Indications:
Various conditions characterized by pain and inflammation, such as:

Inflammatory and degenerative forms of rheumatism, such as rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis, spondylarthritis, tendinitis and low-back pain.
Non-articular rheumatism and acute soft tissue injuries.
Acute attacks of gout.
Painful post-traumatic inflammation and swelling.
Sports injuries, such as sprains, strains and tennis elbow.
Contra-indications:
Hypersensitivity to Piroxicam.
Patients in whom Aspirin or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs induce the symptoms of asthma, angioedema or urticaria.
Precautions:

Avoid contact with the eyes, mucous membranes or open skin lesions.
If local irritation develops, the use of the gel should be discontinued.

Adverse reactions:

Mild forms of skin reactions, such as rash, urticaria and erythema may be rarely encountered.

Dosage and administration:

Dispercam Gel is intended for external use only.
A thin layer of Dispercam Gel is applied on the affected area or joint with gentle rubbing. Application may be repeated twice daily (morning and at bedtime).
