Sunburn
Symptoms of Sunburn
Skin is pink or red.
It feels warm and painful.
Blisters could be present or absent.
Symptoms may not start for 2 or more hours after the sun damage has occurred.
Untreated, skin could become infected.
Mineral oils aggravate symptoms

Efficiency of Sun Screen Agents
Ultraviolet radiation of the Sun is divided into two categories based on wavelength, UV-A, UV-B.
UV-A has a wavelength from 400 nm to about 315 nm & could cause skin damage.
UV-B occurs at wavelengths from about 315 nm to about 280 nm and causes sunburn
Prolonged exposure to UV-B over many years can cause skin cancer

As shown, Zinc Oxide is almost the only sun screen that blocks both UVB and UVA harmful sunrays.

Protection from Sunburn
Use Sunscreens that blocks:

* UV-A (skin-damaging rays)
* UV-B (skin-burning rays)

Reapply sunscreens regularly every 2 hours
Oily water-repellant lotions are recommended when swimming
Sunscreen is applied 20 minutres before exposure
Avoid exposure between 10 am & 2 pm when sun's rays are the strongest

When to apply Sun Screen Agents?

For UV protection, apply Zinc Olive and avoid exposure to burning UV in summer at high noon time, and on the beach all the times.

However, do not apply sun screens to build vitamin D in winter during early mornings, and all year around at late afternoons.
